Cyber Guardian was created in 2019 by Ian Kelly with a mission objective to create a holistic advice, implementation and maintenance Cyber Resilience service for local charities and small business.


I worked as Sys Admin for NICVA (Northern Ireland Council for Voluntary Action) from 2011 and developed a good understanding of the 3rd sector and the difficulties small to medium charities face when it comes to being able to implement and maintain complex IT systems with restricted funding whilst trying to focus on the vital services they deliver across Northern Ireland.


I have experience in setting up security infrastructure, managing Office365 and the secure backend tools of this as well as Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Dynamics365, ESET, GFI, Watchguard, CISCO, Ubiquiti and a host of other networking brands, tools and services.

Ian has experience in guiding organisations through the Cyber Essentials certification and the preparation required for Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation.


My driving force is to see small organisations become more aware of the basic tools needed to protect themselves by guiding them through the Cyber Essentials process. To have as good a security standpoint as any enterprise-level organisation without spending anywhere near as much.

Their vital services need to be protected from all who would wish to bring them harm as we could not function as a society without their great work.
